MOTHER’S DAY 2020

Patient, loving, forgiving, friendly, kind and understanding.  Do these words bring to mind a woman or women in your life who gave you gifts of life, hope, faith, countless hugs and kisses, and life lessons upon which you rely to this day?  The National Council of Catholic Women is pleased to bring you the opportunity to remember and honor these women in a very special and beautiful way this Mother’s Day by having them prayed for in Masses on Mother’s Day weekend at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.

At our Board meeting in May, our NCCW Board will walk down to Mary’s Garden, a beautiful and peaceful site at the Shrine that was donated by the NCCW, to recite the rosary for our NCCW and its members, past and present.  Your intentions will be included. This practice and this Garden present a tangible and lasting connection with the Basilica and our NCCW.

Would you like to honor your mother, daughter, godmother, grandmother, aunt, and important women in your life by having them remembered in Masses said at this National Shrine of Mary on Mother’s Day 2020?  A minimum donation of $20 per name is requested.  Donations will be split between our NCCW and the Basilica.  Please send completed forms directly to the NCCW office by April 30, 2020. If you wish to let those you are honoring know of your special remembrance, please be sure to include their name(s) and address(es) and an acknowledgment card will be sent to them noting that a donation has been made in their honor by you (or you may request your gift be given anonymously).

Thank you for participating in this beautiful way of honoring your mother and those women who have been important to you in your life.

If you are planning to attend the Mass at the Basilica on Wednesday August 26, 2020 you can visit this site yourself.

God Bless all the women in our life,

Jean Kelly
NCCW President
